Eros: An Evening of Storytelling

In honour of Maha Shivaratri (the Great Night of Shiva), I will be hosting an evening of storytelling focused around the mythic union between Shiva and his beloved, The Goddess of Many Names.

Though this event is open to anyone it will be of most interest to -

• lovers of myth and story
• those who have a fondness for or a curiosity about Hindu mythology in particular
• practitioners of yoga & meditation
• folks who want to explore how they can use mythic stories as an inner teaching tool
• those who feel a resonance with the topic of union or the sacred marriage
• folks who appreciate conversations that feed the soul

This special evening event will be held on zoom. Live attendance is encouraged as it will be an interactive event, but recordings will also be made available for those that register.

What You Can Expect

Maha Shivaratri is known as the wedding night of Shiva and Shakti and for many Hindu people's it is a night of self-study, ritual practice, chanting, and fasting. This year Maha Shivaratri falls on March 11th and so our night of storytelling is held before that time so you can learn more about it and consider what such an event might mean to you as a practitioner of yoga or meditation. While we will not stay up all night holding vigil we will give ourselves three hours together for storytelling, mantra practice, self-reflection, group conversation, and meditation.

I will lead the storytelling and guide you in some simple practices, but there will also be time to connect in breakout groups as well as conversations shared within the larger group. This is meant to be an interactive event rather than a lecture and so come prepared to participate. I am very much looking forward to this evening together and hope you can join me if you feel called.
