Spring Wisdom for Vibrant Health and Wellness

According to the science of Ayurveda each season is ruled by two of the five elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. The spring season is characterized by an excess of Earth and Water (Kapha Dosha) and has the qualities of coldness, heaviness, and dampness. Fall Cleansing

It's time for fall cleaning in my household. Every spring and fall I do a major cleaning and organizing of everything in the house. I get rid of anything that is not necessary or isn't being used, and I clean every corner and cupboard. I know it's time to do it again because I feel like I can't get on to any new projects until I clear out the clutter from the last four busy months of summer activity.

Staying Cool & Calm for Summer with Ayurveda

Ayurveda as a science can be very complex, especially when you get to the level of being an Ayurvedic doctor that treats disease and dispenses herbal medicine. But what I love most about this ancient science is it's focus on kitchen wisdom and the use of common sense daily and seasonal routines as a way of preventing imbalance.
